LaGrange and Troup County’s RV destinations offer a slice of small-town quiet with natural settings and plenty of opportunity for outdoor recreation!

LaGrange, Georgia is a great place for an RV stop, whether overnight or for a longer stay. The area offers excellent fishing on West Point Lake, which draws people from all over the country. This beautiful lake is ideal for boating, birdwatching and sunbathing on sandy beaches.

The campgrounds listed below are a short drive from LaGrange, where you can visit one of their many restaurants, tour historic Hills & Dales Estate, visit the Biblical History Center, enjoy craft brews at a local brewery or attend a concert at Sweetland Amphitheatre.

Boardwalk at Highland Pines Resort and Marina

For anglers, West Point Lake is home to many largemouth bass, with the lake record being 14.2 pounds! You can also fish for crappie, catfish, and striper. If you bring your own boat, Highland Pines Resort and Marina will offer a place to park your RV and keep your boat. The marina also offers boat rentals and there are several fishing guides who will provide a boat and take you where the fish are biting!

LaGrange’s RV park options can accommodate any preference. If you’d love a quiet, wooded campground on the lake, make a reservation at Holiday Campground. Pine Mountain RV Resort offers a forest experience with plenty of amenities, perfect for a longer stay. If you want a campground with easy access to tons of lake recreation, reserve a spot at Highland Marina Resort.

Holiday Campground at West Point Lake


This sprawling, wooded campground is beautiful and offers waterfront spots as well as heavily wooded sites with lake views. Holiday Campground has 112 sites, including sites with both water and electric hookups, 50-amp electrical sites, primitive camping sites, and group sites. There is a dump station conveniently located at the campground. There are back-in and pull-through sites available. Reservations are recommended but drive-ins are welcome. Public restrooms are convenient to all sites. This is a beautiful, quiet campground to stay while enjoying the lake. Make reservations by visiting recreation.gov.

Pine Mountain RV Resort


Pine Mountain RV Resort is a beautiful natural setting with plenty of shaded RV spots. The resort has concrete and gravel sites with full hookups which include sewer, 30/50-amp services, water and some spots with cable. There are back-in and pull-through sites available. There are also cabins, yurts and tent camping sites. Amenities include a community lodge, swimming pool and hot tub, activities pavilion, free wi-fi, fire rings and picnic tables, children’s playground and water play area, horseshoes and bicycle rentals, off-leash dog park area and secure RV storage.

Highland Pines Resort and Marina


Highland Pines Resort and Marina offers 38 RV sites, 27 with full hookups and a resort dump station available for the remaining sites. All electric sites have 30- and 50-amp services. They have a few spots that can accommodate a 42-foot rig. Highland also offers cabins for rent. There are plenty of recreation opportunities at the marina. Rental fishing boats, pontoons and jet skis are available. Plan a day of water skiing or tubing, jet skiing or sunbathing on the resort beach.

R. Shaefer Heard Campground

Located on the southern shore of West Point Lake is R. Shaefer Heard Campground. The park boasts 177 sites with electric and water hookups. On-site coin laundry makes this campground perfect for longer stays. Other amenities include a boat launch, picnic area, grills, hiking trails, a tennis court and public restrooms with hot showers. The camping park is open year-round and great for large groups!

Pyne Road Park Campground

With 22 sites for tent and RV campers, Pyne Road Park Campground is an oasis for nature lovers. Park amenities include a 24-hr attendant, boat ramp, nature trails, dump station and flushing toilets. Bring your own water skis, inner tubes, fishing poles, kayaks and more for entertainment on the lake. The campground is open seasonally with a maximum stay of 14 nights.

Whitetail Ridge Campground

Whitetail Ridge Campground, located on the western side of West Point Lake, offers 58 sites with electric and water hookups. Along with waterfront sites and heavily wooded areas, the amenities at this campground also include a dump station, laundry facilities flush toilets and hot showers. Whitetail Ridge is open seasonally from March to November.
