Join us downtown for a relaxing evening on Sweetland’s great lawn. Enjoy listening to local musicians play while waiting for the sun to set and the movie to begin. Pack a picnic or purchase snacks and drinks from Sweetland’s vendors. Beer & wine will be available for purchase. Bring your blankets, chairs and lawn games!

Abstraction by African American Women Artists in the Cochran Collection. Wes and Missy Cochran began building their impressive collection of abstract works at a time when it was unusual to collect non-figurative art by African American artists. The works in the exhibition attest to the remarkable depth of talent of African American women artists who worked in the field of abstraction despite receiving little critical or popular attention, a situation that has only recently begun to change.

Join Troup County Historical Society Docent and Southern Spirit Guide, Lewis Powell, for a ghostly tour of downtown LaGrange to hear about the spirited history of Troup County and those who call it home. Tours will depart from the Legacy Museum on Main at 7 pm, rain or shine, and move through the downtown area. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, bring a water bottle, and an umbrella if the weather calls for rain!

This 5.6 mile nighttime bike ride takes you through the city, showcasing some of LaGrange’s coolest neighborhoods. Join us early at 6pm for live music, food trucks and entertainment for all ages. The ride officially kicks off at 9pm.

Join us in the Pecan Grove for the 12th annual Picnic in the Garden at Hills and Dales. This enjoyable family-friendly tradition is a great way to celebrate Mother’s Day with loved ones. This year activities include an old-fashioned cake walk, juggler, pony rides, face painting, and yard games for all ages. Additionally, picnickers will enjoy live music from local musicians, and prizes will be awarded to those with the best picnic spreads.
Cost: FREE when you bring a picnic basket and blanket

An Evening in the Garden is an exciting new event for the Biblical History Center featuring games, dancing, raffle items, food and more! Games include Bean the Philistine (corn hole), Jericho (Jenga), Israelite vs Philistines (cowboys and Indians), Are you smarter than a Docent? (are you smarter than a 5th grader?) and others. Tickets include admission, food, tea and water, and 2 drink tickets. Any additional drinks or raffle tickets are an additional cost. Free childcare will be available for children between the ages of 4 and 12. However, reservations are required for this amenity.

American Folk / Country Blues Stevie has now released five solo albums and half a dozen music videos, besides his published works with his 1980s swamp swampabilly band, The Tombstones. The Tombstones song “Nobody” became a college radio anthem and was later recorded by rock icon Stiv Bator. His debut full length release 730 AM received great reviews and airplay besides offering tracks that peaked on the Satellite Radio charts and featuring performances by members of Wilco, Jason and the Scorchers, The Bad Livers and the Georgia Satellites.

Join County Historian, Clark Johnson, for a guided walking tour through the historic district of Downtown LaGrange. The tour will begin at the Legacy Museum on Main and will feature historic building and stories about LaGrange and the community that calls it home.
