Embrace the spooky season with LaGrange’s very own ghost tour! Beginning at Legacy Museum on Main, the Strange LaGrange Walking Tour is filled with stories of the paranormal activity that has been reported in our downtown. Southern spirit guide Lewis Powell takes guests on a journey making stops at LaGrange Art Museum, City Hall, Taste of Lemon and more!
Hills & Dales Estate is a century-old home designed to flow gracefully into its gardens—a series of dwarf boxwood parterres planted by Sarah Ferrell that have adorned the terraces of the hill for more than 175 years. From vibrant leaves and beautiful blooms, fall welcomes colorful new changes to the historic property. During October and November, the beautifully-manicured gardens feature sasanqua, tea olive, pansies, camellias and more!
The cooler temps make October and November a prime time to explore downtown LaGrange. From antique stores to boutiques and specialty shops, our local offerings boast excellent selections worth an afternoon browse. There are multiple delicious eateries nearby when it’s time to refuel! If you’re in need of a caffeine boost, take a break at Cafe Brûlée and cozy up with a cup of joe.
Kick off Halloween with the family at Great Wolf Lodge! For all of October, you can explore the resort and water park with your own special set of Howl-o-Ween Wolf Ears, and of course, candy galore.

Surrounded by changing trees and an expansive lawn, Callaway Memorial Tower is picturesque year-round. In the fall, the leaves of the massive ginkgo trees begin to change which only enhances the beauty. Pick up a meal from a local restaurant to enjoy a picnic and admire the scenery! While you’re here, take advantage of the gorgeous backdrop and capture some photos to remember your autumn getaway in LaGrange!
LaGrange Farmers Market is the go-to for fresh, local produce. During the fall, delicious apples, figs, gourds, beets, eggplant and other great seasonal fruits and vegetables are ripe and ready to be purchased. While visiting, don’t forget to find the perfect pumpkin for carving or decoration!
Wild Leap features a continually evolving assortment of ales, IPAs, goses, stouts and porters, as well as their own in-house crafted vodka and specialty, craft cocktails for those desiring a beverage with a little more kick. With a spacious outdoor courtyard, yard games and the founders’ panache for throwing themed parties, the environment at Wild Leap is built for a good time. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of partaking in the Strange LaGrange Walking Tour with Lewis Powell, then you’ll love his exclusive cemetery tour at Hillview. Learn which permanent residents of Hillview were some of our City’s most illustrious citizens and hear stories that were thought to be buried with the dead.
Autumn isn’t complete without a hayride, hot cider and pumpkins! Abbottsford Farms is excited to welcome you and your family with a host of fun, seasonal activities for every age. Grab the kiddos and pick up a few pumpkins for carving!
The Lafayette Society of Performing Arts is at it again, with a dazzling and spooky performance of “The Twisted Tales of Poe.” Mysterious stories from Edgar Allan Poe are told in the form of a live radio style drama, and these macabre tales are sure to frighten and delight!
Nutwood’s current wine list is pretty impeccable. Between Meek’s Black Cherry, Butter Pecan Chardonnay, Jolene White Muscadine, and Nutwood Peach, choosing just one is nearly impossible.
